Amber Waheed is a British Expatriate who relocated to Dubai and worked in various sectors such as aviation and construction, before becoming a Lawyer Coach specializing in Professional Development.

In 2010 she was recommended the services of a financial advisor to manage her investments in low-risk funds. Unfortunately, she discovered that he had been operating illegally under a management consulting license instead of a regulated financial advisor license from the correct Authority.

The financial advisor duped Amber into investing $80,000 of her funds in high-risk investment funds that he had selected, in order to generate large commissions for himself. She was only one of several clients who suffered substantial financial losses as a result, many of whom had been his friends or referrals from acquaintances as well.

She educated herself about financial matters and the legal complexities of the local UAE Sharia legal system, and subsequently sued the financial advisor in both the Dubai Criminal and Civil courts. Amber won a landmark victory against all odds. Through widespread international media coverage of her unique story and public discourse, Amber realised that there was an epidemic of mis-selling and fraud in many countries around the world, and that it affects over 75% of the expat population in the Middle East alone.

Amber documented her journey to victory in a book titled “The Great Fraud Fightback” to share her experience and the knowledge gained. Her book provides a roadmap to help other people navigate similar complex legal cases and is available through Amazon.

In 2021 she created the “Expats in Dubai” podcast where she shares the mic with industry experts from different niches. The podcast resonated with expat listeners because people needed someone who could clearly advise on pertinent matters, and not simply provide hypothetical guidance.

Through her personal experience and work Amber knows how common fraud is in the Middle East and the challenges of finding trustworthy resources and licensed reputable service providers in the marketplace.

The foundation of all this inspired Amber to found Wizbizla in 2022, a groundbreaking network of accredited professionals and special programmes to safeguard expat consumers in the UAE and to prevent similar exploitative situations to the one she experienced.

Wizbizla protects consumers and legally licensed companies in the UAE alike from being victims of fraud. As a consumer trust validator, Wizbizla is focused on advancing marketplace trust and establishing its reputation as the premier network for finding trusted professionals.

Wizbizla’s mission is to be an exclusive network in advancing expat community trust through an independent accreditation process that protects both the expat Consumers and the Service Providers by setting standards for excellence and creating a community of trustworthy businesses.

Wizbizla is the UAE’s number 1 trusted network for finding accredited professionals.
